It's time to catch up!
WOW! I'm very behind in blogging, and I'm fully aware of that by the list that haunts me every time I look at my blog board. I am going to try really hard this year, even though I think I said that when I started this...but I really am! Life is happening so quick that I don't want to forget fun things we do, crafts I create, and the little things in life that make me smile. So to start off, I'll briefly recap the list that I've created so that I can remember those fun times!New couch pillows
The couch pillows I had were outdated and had animals on them..so I recovered them with some fabric from the $1/yard at Wal-Mart. I made the cream pillow 2nd from the right out of a sweater that had a stain on it! Refreshed and lots of patterns are what I love and on a budget!Memory Calendar
Something else that I didn't really keep up to well what my memory calendar. I did keep up with it some months and so far we are enjoying looking at what we were doing this time last year. I hope to document better by filling it out before I go to bed every single day this year! My inspiration came from here.

Caity Shoemake becomes Caity Courtway!
One of my pledge sisters got married last year! He is in the military so they had a small wedding on base in between all of his trainings. There was a shower in town that I had the pleasure of attending! Here is some of our pledge sisters with Caity.Leah and Kevin are married....(and now expecting, that's how behind I am)
Leah my heart sister from Sigma Kappa got married last February!! They've been together FOREVER and I was so happy to be a part of the big day! It was beautiful and absolutely perfect. Here are a few snapshots of the good times we had at the wedding and while getting ready!
What a fun time we had! I'll share about their expecting news in a new post later!
Charles is SMART!
I was so proud to accompany Charles to this banquet. He and a few group members put together a marketing case for Target and were chosen as winners after presenting the case they put together.
Big Girl Bedding
So this is getting out of order but I posted the pictures and I'm just going to go with it. I have had a twin bed for as long as I can remember but I finally upgraded!!! This is my new bed and bedding. I have since added black euro pillows to the back and it make a big difference!
Crawfish Boil
Charles and I attended our first UCA Alumni Crawfish Boil last summer and had so much fun!Graduation with Master of Science in FACS
I graduated again this year and this time I really think that's it! I graduated with my BSE on May 05,2012 and my MS in FACS on May 04, 2013. I started school not even a month after graduation and so thankful that I did. I know it was worth it now and so grateful for the experiences I received.

After graduation comes job hunting....
I have always been a planner and not knowing what's going to happen makes me REALLY ANXIOUS and probably a bit hard to be around. Thankfully I have a very supportive family members and group of friends that helped me stay calm even when I didn't know. During the time of the unknown, my little, Anna was also searching for a teaching position. We would work on interview questions, resumes, and help calm each others nerves on the daily basis for a little while. I know I'm keeping this short (hah) but this was an important part of my year! I interviewed at a school that I had never heard of, 45 minutes from home, and in a Middle School...not my thing (I think). Not even one week after the interview, I was offered the job, but something just didn't feel right. I was at my parents when this happened and had very mixed emotions because it was early in the hiring season. Not knowing if I should wait for something else or if I was stupid for turning down a position, I had to learn to rely on the big man upstairs (something I sometimes forget to do because I want to be in control). Long story shorter, I didn't take the job but the principal doesn't know this because he never called me back after I called to tell him my decision...that was my sign that I had done the right thing! So after many tears, stressful days, and the unknown, I got a call from Dr. Harlan (my UCA graduate advisor). She had a position for some summer work and wanted me to do it!! Thankful then for putting it in his hands!! So, we go into the first month of summer and she has a position open up for part-time teaching...and I had the qualifications to fill it. She offered me the position along with some "extra duties" including academic advising and I took it because it was comfortable and going to help with my future teaching endeavors. I sometimes question if it was the "right" decision and then I'm reminded that it's where I'm suppose to be for the time being and I'm making a difference. I'm not doing what I originally thought I would be but it's been fun! I'll talk more about my classes later! My office-McAlister Hall
So now that I accepted a job, I got right down to the most important thing, decorating my portion of my office! It's much more "lived in" now but still my favorite thing to look at!
Kandyce's Dance Recital
Starting Fresh!
I decided I needed something new to happen to my hair....so of course I cut off 12" of it! Then I decided that wasn't enough and kept getting it cut a little more until I had it in a very stacked hairdo! I loved it then and still love it now even though I've decided to add a little length again so I can put it in a ponytail for summer!
A few of my favorites..

Charles' Graduation-MBA & A New Job
I'm so very proud of Charles for sticking it out and getting his MBA degree this past year also! He didn't want to dive in as quick as I did, which I don't blame him so he graduated in August of 2013. It was a fun evening filled with family and food! I think he's also DONE with school! Once he graduated, he continued to work for the same business he had for a while and looked for a new place to utilize his degree. He ended up landing the General Manager position at the Canine Country Club of Arkansas which is amazing and he's still enjoying it now. I'm so proud of everything he is doing and will continue to do in the new year!
First Day of Class!
It's Fall Y'all! Our adorable decorations for the house!
Hunter Graduated too! 8th Grade Ceremony
I don't really like to think that this sweet boy is now in High School! It's just not right and I don't like it one bit! He did look very handsome at his 8th Grade Certificate Ceremony! Love him and know that he will make me proud!
UCA Alumni Night at the Traveler's Game
Check out the sweet hats we got to celebrate the event...yea he didn't wear it for very long!
I know that there are so many more things that I could write about because it's been a wonderful year but I don't know if there's enough time for that! Overall, I can't wait to see what memories will be made this year and I promise to make my best effort for myself to blog!
